This film and Essex Boys.....

Essex Boys was loosly based on the real Events and Infamous Tate, Tucker and Rolfe, for example Sean Beans character was supposed to be Pat Tate. ROTFS is Carlton Leach's account of what happenend to him and the last 40 minutes is theory and the testimony of Darren Nichols,

ROTFS= based on a true story
Essex boys =none of the events actually happened expect the range rover scene

I haven't watched Essex Boys in years, but I seem to recall that either at the start or the finish, they put text up on the screen with words to the effect that the movie was 'inspired' by the rangerover murders - i.e. a scriptwriter saw 'the real' crimes on tv, and went on to write a fictional story as to how things might have ended up like that. I don't think it was ever put up as if Essex Boys was based on a true story, or any sort of slightly dramatised re-enactment.
