Compared to what actually happened?

The film is fairly close to the actual events of the Rettendon murder. There's small differences like Pat Tate did not use a pizza cutter but banged the pizza guy's head repeatedly against the counter. The fact that the pizza guy did not press charges indirectly led to Pat's murder - if he had then Pat would have immediately been sent back to prison, as he was on parole, and he would have been in jail the night he was murdered

Also the murder scene was not filmed at the real site as it was deemed not "movie" enough.

Bernard does not believe Whomes and Steele committed the murders whereas the newspapers all follow the establishment/Crown's view that they did.

A lot of the events in this film were vasty different to the real thing.

Carlton Leach's involvement in all of the events was extremely minor compared to the film, the whole Turkish subplot is pure fiction.

Craig Rolfe is portrayed as a snivelling and cowardly sidekick, when in reality he was just as fearsome as Tate and Tucker and certainly not some little pussey.

The welsh guy who gets abused by the trio (forgot his name in the film) is actually based on a cockney guy called Nipper Ellis, who was a friend of Tate's in prison.

They completely omit the entire Raquels/Leah Betts story from the film and cut characters such as Bernard O'Mahoney, John Whomes etc. Which is quite shocking really seen as without it there's no real story.

Men are guilty of all the good they do not do.
