Ok it seems discretion is not appreciated, so here it goes...
the sadder version I was at the Film Festival (which I preferred) had everyone dead in the end.
The DVD version I saw now had The Weird survive by pulling the old improvised bullet proof vest trick from A Fistful of Dollars (if I am not mixing up my Clint Eastwood movies).
In the DVD version the Japanese army also survives, whereas in my preferred version they are killed (or at least stopped) by the Weird with dynamite, when they enter the canyons.
I'll copy paste myself from the other thread to this more appropriate thread
There were some minor differences, which however made me like the festival version more.SPOILERS In the nonfestival version the Good is introduced at the opening, where we get to know he is friend whith a young woman from the Korean army, who assigns him with the "catch the Bad" mission. This woman is absent in the festival version and the Good is first introduced at the train's first shootout. Her absence comes along with the removal of a later scene, where Korean soldiers are having a discussion. After the final showdown the Good has a vision of the girl that acompanies him at the ranch during his "final" moments in the regular version. Last and most important in my opinion was the difference in the scene after the final showdown. In the nonfestival version we see the Weird getting up,getting rid of the armour, robbing The Bad's body and setting the dynamite on fire while trying to escape from the Japanese. Then we have the new bounty scene and the Good interogatting a thug to tell him the whereabouts of the Weird and lastly the Weird riding his bike. However in the festival version after all three fall unconsius and the oil pumps out, next thing we see is some small credits, then comes all of a sudden the wanted poster scene. We have a zoom out reaviling us the Good, alive, his face hidden through his bandana watching Weird's new bounty and leaving, propably setting out to chase him. Then follows the final bike scene. In my opinion much more well-paced and badass ending. In other words in both versions I watched The Good and the Weird survived.
If anyone is interested, its the festival version which has just gone on theatrical release in the UK.
Personally, I like the sound of the other version; what has happened at the end of this cut I felt was just a little too ambiguous to fit the rest of the film, but I cant really give a proper opinion having seen only one.
I thoroughly enjoyed the film - great fun, and highly recommended!
