Just.....didn't dig it as much as I thought I would

Maybe I hyped up this film too much for myself: reading the reviews from festivals the past couple years, holding off on buying an import or torrenting the thing, awaiting the day I could see it on the big screen here in the U.S.....

I think the editing had a lot to do with it. I've heard there are multiple versions - I don't know if IFC Films made its own or just released an existing one. But the action scenes were edited too frenetically for me to really enjoy them much. Aside from the action, the general flow just felt "off". This was especially noticeable in the ending - all of a sudden, it's BAM! Yoon Tae-goo and Park Do-won survived and escaped on their own. The End.

But, I didn't hate it, and did enjoy it at face value. I'll probably give it another shot when it hits DVD.
