Used Cars + Road Warrior

This movie obviously borrows heavily from all kinds of movies, some more obviously than others.

That final chase was very reminiscient of Road Warrior (and the big stunt-scene in Zemeckis's Used Cars), with just the right amount of more modern shaky-cam (and blood on the lens).

The Ghost Market scene is just excellent. Reminiscient of old Erroll Flynn swashbuckling movies (the Good swinging around might as well have been climbing the mast pole). Again, Zemeckis with Romancing the Stone, or

Just a great, crowd-pleasing movie that has a wide, strong foundation in what works. And that opening Train Robbery set the tone in a great way.
