You can still find it on youtube if you type in the title and "full movie" to see this ending they are talking about. It's non subtitled and in Korean though so you'll have to do some guesswork as to what is said.
Just to confirm, the Netflix version IS the short crappy ending that doesn't explain anything unless you are a detective/Sherlock Holmes.
I never saw in any ending that the weird (tae-goo) took the loot other than the diamonds from the bad's pocket when he was inexplicably jamming dynamite in his pockets (there were no subtitles, I don't speak Korean). If anyone knows what he was saying to the bad that would be helpful.
The other part, where the good has a shootout with some thugs, I can only guess he was looking for the weird or perhaps collecting a bounty on the guy he didn't kill.
All in all I was a bit disappointed with the movie because I didn't really get a true understanding. I am a huge foreign film fan, especially of the Asian variety, but I find that this often happens. Either the meanings are sometimes lost to me or they just suck at making movies in the western style.
***spoilers for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Titanic (James Cameron version) - DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THEM!***
Japanese directors/writers are notorious for crappy meaningless films. My fiance and I often joke as we watch Japanese movies that no happy ending ever happens, one of the two lovers will die horribly, or something else. It's basically Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, or the Titanic in almost every Japanese movie, I swear.
