Kate Hudson rocked this movie; Hathaway is a googly eyed byotch
Kate Hudson is uber cool (hell she was married to a rock star and her mom's Goldie Hawn), naturally beautiful and sexy (it is actually hard to be both), she's quite popular with her numerous friends, she is a decent comic actress who wisely sticks to rom-coms (not a scale-climbing, award-whore agonizingly self-concious "artiste" like Hathaway), and she is respected by her colleagues.
Unlike Hathaway (allegedly), Hudson didn't try to screw her friends and family out of millions through the behaviors (alleged) of her boyfriend. Hathaway ruined this movie, which certainly had its flaws, but Hathaway had a creepy, nasty edge to her character which made me think Emma's intense jealousy of Liv was all too real. You can tell she is jealous as all hell of Kate Hudson because Hudson is everything Hathaway is not: Hudson grew up with beauty and privilege and is not spoiled or self-concious. Googly-eyed Hathway clawed her way up the ladder, pretending she is an intellectual by trotting around with her Vassar degree in hand to play "smart" roles like Jane Austen and Rachel. It just makes her all the more irritating. (And trust me, I am hardly jealous of Hathaway as I have my own fancy degree. So I find others who mention their degrees constantly very annoying as it's so obviously a ploy to get approval and attention).
