The scene with the mother and Monica Belluci?

Ok, obviously this will contain some spoilers.

The scene where Monica Belluci's character calls Raya's mother to come and pick up her daughter, I assumed she will obviously get to go home. But then Monica sends Raya off with that police officer who was with Rachel Wiesz literally 15 seconds before the mother shows up. I didn't understand how come they didn't stop Raya so at least the mother can see her. Instead when the van gets high-jacked and Raya is kidnapped again, the next scene shows Monica Belluci telling the mother she is sorry that they lost her daughter. How did she get that piece of information so fast? Did Rachel Wiesz even know that Raya's mother was contacted? That entire scene made very little sense to me.

I was wondering the same thing, in fact, I came here looking for explanation to see if I missed something, even the wide space of the room implies that the mother should have seen her daugther, because she was just leaving at the same time the mother asked for Monica.

That scene made me think tha Monica's character was an accomplice of the bad guys, but no further scenes show it.

Maybe that was an editing mistake and the arrival of the mother was suposed to be later that day.

Yeah I think that was the case.

Wasn't this obvious from the moment Monica's character states that "there are procedures" like humans were objects who don't need any real protection.

Even more disgusting, is to know that there are women who encourage/shelter/take part in women traffic.

Shut up and LIVE!
