Why didn't JT cut off her head?

Just to see if she survives...

At some point after he raped her the first time, JT tried to kill her and he was surprised she didn't die, no matter what he did. I know this is a movie (duh!) and "suspension of disbelief" is necessary but I actually found this to be somewhat of a plothole: I find it unbelievable that he wasted some twenty bullets on her torso and never thought to himself "Well, she IS definitely breathing. Which means she needs oxygen to live. I wonder what will happen if I cut off her head".

No? Did he suddenly lose the will to kill her after he realized bullets won't do the trick? I don't understand that. If someone is able to explain, I appreciate.

Also, what is it with movies like this that make teenage boys come off as sex-crazed ruthless rapists? Oh God, then we to deal with the "feminists" on IMDB squealing about how this movie is proof that all men are rapists...

Feminists thought that anyway.

I don't think JT was ever trying to kill her, he just was beating her and choking her, those are the first 2 methods and likely not intentional, he was trying to subdue her with violence. The one where he shoots her is to prove she can't die. Ricky faints.

JT mentions as an option, when Ricky wakes up after fainting, "we could destroy her... ain't you supposed to get her kind in the brain pan or something?" In the ending, Ricky even comes to the basement with a machete, and is about to decapitate Deadgirl when he notices Joanne tied up and turns his attention to her instead.

As far as breathing, apparently she doesn't need to. She isn't breathing at all until JT reaches to touch her.

Twenty bullets? I don't know what movie you saw but it looked to me that he shot her three, maybe four times. Plus it was a six shot revolver and he didn't re-load.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Maybe he didn't want to risk killing her. Sure nothing else killed her, but cutting off her head just might do the trick, you never know. And he wanted her alive by this point, at least, until he could make more deadgirls.
