Where did the deadgirl come from?
I mean was it ever explained as to how she was end up being left in the institution?

Wheeler brought up the question and JT suggested that the leaving asylum staff maybe forgot about her. But there was no solid answer to the question. I think not knowing adds to the weirdness of the situation and is an important part of the movie.
shareI don't think they forgot about her. Looks more like she was sealed away on purpose. Probably the result of an illegal experiment gone wrong. And if they couldn't kill her, how else were they going to deal with her? Just lock her up underground and leave and hope no one finds her (tough luck).
shareIt is never explained. It's one of those questions that isn't important for the messages and themes of the films, I think, and if it were explained, it would just detract from them.
What a lovely way to burn...
In the library scene the camera rolls by a few books one of the being The Tibetan book of the dead. Not sure if that's a hint but it stuck with me. She had been in the asylum for awhile, and even after grievous injury she wouldn't die. Almost like she was something else, like a spirit was in the woman's body. Just my take on it
If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice..NP
