One Question

Okay, so I saw this film last week and thought it was awfull, just awfull. It would have played out better if the girl had just been unconsious or even in a coma. Then they could have explored the whole right and wrong of the situation. Do they let her go or do they use her. This is how it started but then it just got all zombiefied and by the end it was just plain silly. But thats my opinion so don't start getting all uppity about it. I didn't like you did, that's just the way it is.
My one question is this.
When the guy whent to free her with the bolt cutters she was chained down, supposably to the corners of the tabel / bed. Secure and unable to get up or excape. So how the hell did she end up on her front. She was on her back when they found her with her hands above each shoulder. Yet later she was face down but still with her hands above each shoulder. How is this possible without unlocking her and turning her over. If the chains were long enough to turn her over then she would have had the slack to raise her arms and scratch and claw at the guys. I just don't get it. Did I miss something.
Answers please.

I asked the same question! When Wheeler offered to flip her over I literally said "How? Do you have a key for those shackles?" And then why would Ricky need bolt cutters if he could just unlock her (assuming JT doesn't have the key on a string around his neck or something). My boyfriend told me to stop screwing things up with critical thinking. So she was shackled and in chains at first, then she's all bound by rope and the shackles are gone. It's just a thing they overlooked for the sake of convenience, I think, and it annoyed me.

I doubt very much that the filmmakers worried much about it, but here is a reasonable hypothetical:
There is a length of chain connected to the table from underneath. The chain can be shortened or lengthened, not unlike a winch. The anchor, if you will, is the bed. I remember at one point (when the 3rd guy was having sex with her) that she was hanging off the bed lengthwise. They loosened the chain at her arms and legs to allow enough freedom to slide her half off the bed. Then you can winch her back, tightening the restraint. It would be rather like one of those dog collars, with the extendable length.

Like I said, i doubt that this is what they intended, but it would work as an explanation as to why they could flip her over without unlocking her.

1. Being moody.
2. Being bad at maths.
3. Being sad.

When she was bound by rope that was after they had the bolt cutters handy. But it's still impossible that they flipped her before they had the cutters.

I think that was the filmmakers' intent, to make it as awful and reprehensible as possible. Not saying the rape of a comatose girl is any less reprehensible, but it somehow looks more disturbing when the girl is awake during the whole thing and clearly has not given her consent.
