So what happened to JT?

It showed he got bit, so that means he becomes undead. Why wasn't he around when Rickie started visiting his new girlfriend at the asylum? Or did he leave to stalk the earth so he could give Rickie the privacy to be together with his woman?

I assumed after JT bit Joann for Rickie, he probably waited until JT fully turned and put his friend out of his misery. But that's just me. Who knows.
