redhead got what she deserved

She dated abusive jock. Ignored the looser and was mean to him teasing etc. In the end she was the one on the table. Thoughts? I find her situation pretty ironic.

reply

Just because she dated a jerk and wasn't attracted to Rickie, she didn't deserve to be killed and turned into a zombie sex slave.

You think a fitting punishment for a woman being sarcastic is to turn her into a zombie sex-slave?! You are a frightening, frightening man...

Well since you asked for thoughts...

(I'm not saying YOU, since you posed it as a discussion question) but...

Only a Sick F * c k would think she (or anyone) deserved to be killed, to brought back to life to remain in a captive undead state for an unknown eternity, and presumably to be repeatedly physically abused and sexually violated - All that for simply not being nice to a guy she didn't like.

Learning to deal with rejection involves focusing on maintaining your inner sense of self worth despite outer circumstances. Dealing with rejection does NOT, under any circumstances I can imagine, prescribe sliding into the lowest possible depth of inhumanity by attempting to live out some psychopathic necrophiliac sex slavery fantasy.

Thanks for asking.

Also, no, it is not even ironic.

Ironic would be more like if she got rejected and teased by someone she had a crush on. Hard for me to think of it as irony when the two outcomes are so unequal as to be a lopsided asymmetric contrast.

Here's what I find ironic,
It's ironic to say that romantic rejection is horrible,
but murder, sexual violation, and degradation of the dead is okay as a response to rejection.

Judging by the logic of this topic I strongly suspect JT survived the movie and opened an IMDB-account!

reply

I personally think she was attracted to Rickie, but in her elitist mind that attraction was used for her own pleasure of teasing him. She would never make herself look bad.

I share your suspicion. Rickie was also much cuter than Johnny, so it makes sense Joanne would be secretly pining for him. I thought so, anyways. (I'm a heterosexual male, however, which doesn't make my opinion particularly valuable.)

In hindsight, yes, Joanne's fate was cruel and undeserved. However, she wanted a boyfriend who would treat her like an object and her persistence was rewarded.
