So who really left her there?

and was the zombie girl somewhat aware because she didn't bother biting that kid at the end or maybe she was just full

reply

If by "that kid" you mean Rickie, then yes, you'd have to say she was somewhat aware of what was going on, because it seems that she doesn't bite Rickie because she knows he was trying to help her.

As for who left her there, who knows. Presumably she was a patient at the asylum. Was she turned into a zombie and abused by someone while the asylum was active, or after it was abandoned? The movie doesn't give us any answers to the question of her origin, and while it would be interesting to know, it's not really important.

reply

I think the ending implied how Deadgirl got there. Rickie continues the cycle. She was someone's zombie sex slave they put there cos the room was hidden in abandoned nuthouse. The guy(s) who used her since died. Someday another person could find Joann.

reply

This is actually quite plausible. It's a great theory, but it still doesn't explain how the "zombie virus" came about in the first place. Maybe they were doing all sorts of funky experiments down there and using patients as guinea pigs when the asylum was still operational, who knows? When it had to be abandoned, nobody really knew what to do with their "experiment" seeing as how she couldn't die and couldn't be released. So they just locked her away forever. But some sick intern or janitor must have had "fun" with her first before abandoning the place completely. However, like another poster said, how deadgirl wound up there isn't really the point.

Dingothesquirrel, yep i was thinking the same thing. Why the hell didn't she just pushed him away instead of biting his neck off. That means dead girl is not really dead dead, she has some kind of consciousness which can identify good from bad or i have to agree that she was just too full. Salute!

reply

Interesting questions, I had been wondering as well. Anyways I think that there was some experiment done on a patient at the asylum that made her undead. What I've been wondering though, what if the dead girl's zombie behaviors (biting, scratching, violently attacking) were in fact the behavior of the patient before she became undead? This would explain why the jock was dead (his body shut down and died, that's how *that* scene happened) but still "right in the head". This would also explain why she isn't really eating her victims, more just biting, and how she could differentiate between rapists and "savior".

Who left her there though? That's for the audience to decide.

All-in-all it was a pretty interesting movie.

Ok, so if she was aware, then she knew that JT was raping her repeatedly. In the very beginning, when JT touched the inside of her thinh, she quivered as if she liked it. She never screamed when she was being violated, and even let JT put lipstick on her without biting his hand. She also saved JT from the dog when it attacked and then smiled at him when he "thanked" her. She never even tried to bite him when he leaned down over her face, almost as if she liked him somehow.

BUT!

She also attacked both JT and Wheeler when Ricky cut her loose, and also attacked the jock during the rape and his friend after he tried to cut her loose. Then she basically killed JT at the end, and passed by Ricky without hurting him.

So which is it?

More questions: What happened to her after she got away? What would someone do to her if they found her running down the street, naked, grunting and obvioulsy very badly wounded? Is she even killable? We never learned.

Nice catch on her zombie-like behavior being a result of mental illness and not a symptom of her undead infection. That would explain why the others didn't start climbing the alls as soon as they had been exposed. She must have been alive when she was infected and then died, but didn't have time to rot very much. The jock rotted in days. She didn't even start to smell until after she had been shot and her "wounds" fermented. So, maybe she hadn't been there very long before the boys found her?

I've got two good posts in me and I just wrote my third...

My best guess is that she turned on JT and Wheeler because they didn't want her anymore. They found out how to make more deadgirls, and wanted to make a new one that was less decomposed, damaged, and disgusting. They brought Joann there to replace her. With a younger, more attractive, fresher deadgirl around, do you think they would still be having sex with her? If they even let her "live?"

reply

If she was enjoying it, why was she trying to get away when one of her arms was free and JT and Wheeler tried to restrain her again? (This was before the plan to make a new deadgirl.)

Your statement would be true except for the fact that the door was rusted shut when they entered the room. Ofcourse maybe there is a secret way in the room that they did not discover?

Then why didn't she rot like the jock did? Hmmm...

I'd like to know this too.

I'm rather amazed that nobody has figured this out yet! Patient zero of the "zombie virus" is Clint, the good for nothing live in boyfriend. This is just a recent incarnation. In his past life he was a nurse at a long-term coma care facility where he was pimping out the patients. One of his patients woke up and "killed" him, which was his motivation to move on. He was just starting up a new franchise here,

I'm confused, could you elaborate please? You're talking about Rickie's mom's boyfriend? I don't remember him being of any use to the story, so explain to me why he's apparently a zombie now? I must have missed that dialogue.

And I'm not being sarcastic, dead serious.

Kill Bill Vol. 1: The actor playing Clint in DG played Buck in KBv1- nurse in a long-term coma care facility who was pimping out the female coma patients. One of the victims wakes up during one of the rapes and handily dispatches both her rapist and Buck the pimp. I drew a parallel between a coma victim and a chained-down zombie sex slave and connected them with two seedy individuals both played by Michael Bowen.

Due to the ambiguous nature of the dead girl's origin, I attempted to inject a little levity into the thread by referencing a rather popular movie from an otherwise relatively minor character's CV. Sorry to have confused you.

This is an old thread...but I just watched this movie and then read your comment.... Pure Genius! I love it! Lol!

Cake or death? Hmmmm I choose cake please.

Wow, a blast from the past. Glad you got a laugh.
