'Would you rather die or live without your soulmate?' (Spoiler)

Soulmate? Really? He's been molesting you for 10 ten years and you think he considers that woman his soulmate?

reply

I know! That pissed me off cause now her motive makes no sense

"People are bastard coated bastards with bastard filling"

reply

yeah that was a really dumb line, of course, my answer would be: "LIVE!"

reply

if that's your answer, you never had any kind of soulmate.
Egoists like you can't have anyway.

reply

Egoist? Try realist. Most people want to live no matter. Sorry if that falls short of your pristine standards of selflessness, but I'm human.

reply

Again, you never had a soulmate or a person you truly loved.

reply

And how would you know? Do I have to be like those old Hindus and burn the widows on their husbands funeral pyre. People want to live and I am no exception.

reply

And how would you know?
Because of your answer.

So you do have someone you TRULY LOVE, but if you had to pick 1 of you 2 who is gonna die, you obviously know it'd be her/him. Right ?

reply

If an answer of someone would make you discard such person as being able to have a soulmate....how come a dirty CHILD MOLESTER? Would he be a better candidate?

And such soul mate stuff is just STUPID, love with such passion is chemically produced, and last no more than a few years, comes from evolution, the time needed for a new child yo grow up and at least walk....

It's NORMAL that passion winds down.
A RATIONAL person would stay with the mate to raise the kid, and fulfill the duties and parent, and try to be a good COMPANION.

But please, be REALISTIC, NOT CHILDISH. Only childish people believe in eternal, passionate love.

The real love you must have is for your kids, not for your mate. Many people put their mates ahead of thir kids, specially when they divorce, another dumb decision, such 'love' end sooner or later, the bind with their kids is forever, and they destroy it by leaving their kids unattended.)

reply

You know, that first murder killed what could have been a decent serial killer movie.

***SPOILERS***

Not only is there no reason to assume that the molester really saw his wife as a "soul mate" and loved her, but torturing and killing her made the killer(s) just as bad as the one they are trying to hurt. And that's not mentioning the fact that they took the mother away from two innocent young girls (leaving them with a child molester of a father, by the way).

So you were molested by daddy, and so you decide to hurt him by torturing and killing your innocent mother? And also leaving your little sisters without their mother? All just to hurt a guy whom is never shown to care about his wife anyway?

The conclusion of this film could have made the viewer understand and have sympathy for the horsemen's motives, but the first callous murder ruined all of it.

reply

I don't think I would've felt any sympathy. So your brother calls you *beep* and you take a sawblade to the chest? Get some balls. Not only did black people have to put up with called *beep* they had to put up with dogs and full blast water hoses just to get a sandwich at a diner.

reply

No, i wouldn't have felt any sympathy either.

I mean, if you are gay and your family is a bunch of annoying, gay bashing rednecks then why would you care about them enough to take a saw to your own sternum? Just tell them to *beep* off and start a new life away from them.

But the point was that the horsemen had some righteous motivation for their actions from their twisted point of view. But what i'm saying is that if the first torture and murder of the mother was when the mother was completely innocent, then even from their twisted point of view their actions would have been stupid and wrong because it would make them just as bad as the people they were trying to hurt.

I must've missed that because of the actress' horrible accent.
If the mother knew, it would have made the torture and murder of the mother more in line with the horsemen's actions.

no, she wasn't innocent. She knew and let it happen, Kristin said.

reply

I don't think this is too hard to understand - daughter is molested by daddy and lashes out at mum for not helping her, not protecting her. Whether her mum knew about the abuse or not wouldn't necessarily matter in the mind of the abused child - the abused child might think their mother must have known.

I should imagine there could feasibly be an incredible amount of rage, in an abused child. Emotions like that aren't reasoned and logical.

reply

No one turned this into a topic of race. It was a comparison and contrast of acts of hate towards minorities and the reactions. Congratulations on being able to spell idiot though.

You're COMPLETELY missing the point, it's almost to the point of being astounding. Please comprehend, I compared an act of hate towards ONE character in the movie (whose sexual orientation some would even argue make him a minority) with acts of hate towards another similarly targeted group. One fought for its right not to be degraded while the other handled it like a whiny, irrational little pussy. Here's another comparison (and contrast), there are people who get disowned from their families for being gay, a similar plight to this character, BUT they don't saw their heart in half. So tell me where does it indicate anywhere in this thread that I implied the whole movie was about race or minorities?

reply

With your comparison you got a point (that nepats25 obviously missed). But I don't agree with your message. You shouldn't qualify a minority (or the gay guy in the film) a "whiny, irrational little pussy" just because they are unable to defend themselves or stand up. It's not as if it were their obligation. It's exactly the other way round. It's their right to be left alone. If they help themselves, well that's great. But if they can't, it's kind of evil to call them "whiny irrational little pussies" ...

reply

It would've been more believable if Kristin killed her mother because she was jealous of the real "miracle" daughters being born and stealing the spotlight, so to speak.

reply

Live, cuz i can get another soulmate, ggnore

Not completely innocent mother given it sounds like she might've known about the molestation but yeah, that was pretty stupid. I really doubt the guy raping his daughter thought of his wife as his 'soulmate.'

Semper fi, sissy britches!
