Despite the complaints posted here from other viewers, I totally dug this film. I liked the 'look' of the Slit-Mouthed Woman, the storyline and the actors (especially the kids). I think if you just sit back and take the whole movie as just entertainment, you'll be entertained.
P.s. I think the Slit-Mouthed Woman would be a great Halloween costume!

I love the movie as well. The cast did a great job.
PS. to the people who are complaining about the parts with the children. It's called acting. It's obvious that the hitting and the kicking (especially in the scenes with the male teacher when he was a kid.)is FAKE..The people who are complaining should really get their facts straight about acting, directing and EDITING movies to make everything look real...the bruises and the blood are also fake.....It's called makeup.
yes Violence against children is bad. But this is ONLY A MOVIE. Nobody (especially the kids) was actually hurt. It just goes to show what amazing actors and actress' they all are.

Well, I thought the movie was okay, but I do agree that the acting was kinda crappy. Not the physical acting, that was good enough. And not the kids either; they did alright considering...well, they're kids. But the way lines were delivered by the two leads seemed kinda forced. Of course, I'm not a native Japanese speaker, so bad acting's harder to spot, but I've seen my share of J-Horror and these guys were certainly not the best.
shareSometimes IMDb comments can be misleading. This isn't a typical Asian horror film by any means. The slit-mouthed woman is not the typical Onryo ghost seen in Ringu. The children are also surprisingly young - at least 5 years younger than the kids in Battle Royale. Lots of other stuff is different too.
I liked it quite a bit too. Good Halloween material.

I loved the "'look'ought of the Slit-Mouthed Woman" as well and thought it was definatly the best thing about the movie escpecially in that scene where she takes the first girl...overall kind of disappointing movie though...
