This movie actually left an impression on me.

Normally I'd pick up some asian horror films here and there and watch them every so often, but this one took me by surprise. I assumed that it was rather low-budget and rushed based on the pacing and locales/set pieces but in no way did I felt like it wasn't worth the watch. I actually felt like I didn't know what to expect and then by the end of the film, I felt bummed out because... well, because the film ended. To this end, I felt that the movie played out its unfortunate circumstances (with child negligence/abuse, etc.) so well that I felt really bad for its characters and the context they live in. Sure enough, it was somewhat relieving to find out that it's actually based on a Japanese legend and that two sequels - well, technically two prequels - were subsequently produced.

I definitely feel like I'll give it another watch sometime though I'm a little disappointed that I haven't been able to find its prequels anywhere. Any help on that matter would be appreciated, as well as if anyone would happen to know where I may find the credits song "Garasu no Hitomi" by I-lulu, I believe.

Those are my two cents on this film I'd recommend!
