Both Renner and Mackie have played Avengers since this movie...

I saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier the other day, and I noticed something: since appearing in this movie, not only are they much bigger names, but both Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie have gone on to play Avengers characters, Renner as Hawkeye and Mackie as Falcon. Coincidence? Oh, and is there a reason why they both are playing characters named after predatory birds? Hm...

My guess would be that the roles in which they auditioned carried those names lol. Coincidence

Not only that, but they have a Wasp (Ant-Man's Evangeline Lilly) and Aldrich Killian (Iron Man 3's Guy Pearce)- as an Extremis who can fly- join them. Though only Hope van Dyne and the two you mentioned survive.

Speaking of Evangeline Lilly's Marvel character, her character in the next movie is going to be the Wasp. To keep the thread starters whole flying thing going.
