The two CIA scenes made the whole movie worthwhile

I spent most of the movie getting pissed off at the characters, wondering why the music was so ominous, and all-in-all, just wondering where the hell they were going with it. I was not entertained. Until those two scenes at the CIA with JK Simmons. They made all the painfulness worthwhile. If I hadn't sat through all of those tedious scenes, wondering where on earth the movie was headed, I wouldn't have been able to appreciate the absolute hilarity of those two scenes. Brilliant.

Agreed.

I didn't particularly like the film (mostly due to the complete lack of sympathetic characters), but the scenes in the CIA were great. The attitude of the G-Men pretty much reflected my attitude toward the film. Bewildered puzzlement.

The music´s ominous because BAR is, among other things, satirizing the paranoia thrillers - the foreboding rumble always seems to follow Clooney around.

Fully agree. I'm sure it was intentional that JK Simmons' reaction was supposed to mirror the audiences. Perplexed bewilderment. Almost made up for the rest of the movie. The first 30-45 min is so incredibly boring, though.

Yes. Especially this one:

CIA Superior: What did we learn, Palmer?

CIA Officer: I don't know, sir.

CIA Superior: I don't *beep* know either. I guess we learned not to do it again.

CIA Officer: Yes, sir.

CIA Superior: I'm *beep* if I know what we did.

CIA Officer: Yes, sir, it's, uh, hard to say

CIA Superior: Jesus *beep* Christ.
