I'll start off with a disclaimer...I'm not usually EVER a fan of remakes (the 1st Ring was decent)It is just Hollywod trying to jump on a recently sucessful movie over seas and "Americanize" it for a profit. I guess most people don't like subtitles. I love subtitles and hate dubbed voices otherwise you take away from the actor's performance...and by remake I don't mean it has to be Hollywood with white actors. It can stay in it's native language/culture.

This film had a really great premise it just wasn't executed as perfectly as I would have liked. That is just MHO.

They should lose the game show aspect because that was a bit too corny and preachy (we've seen it before) and just keep it about greed and desperation. If the central character was in more of a pickle in life that would work better. Maybe change it to a female recovering junkie that wants to get her life together and reunite with her child or something.

Also the subplot with his coworker/girlfriend was annoying. We really didn't need her in the movie at all. She doesn't need to act as the audiences inner monolouge, we should just be taken on the central character's rollercoaster ride.

I doubt they will ever remake this, but maybe they are while I'm typing, because with recent films like Eagle Eye, Phone Booth, Cellular, Untracable and the list goes on and on.

That is just my 2 cents, not a whole dollar.

Its gonna be remade, just go to www.bloody-disgusting.com and u will see that they are planning to remade this film. Too bad

The game show aspect is fine the way it is, a junkie mother is sentimental tosh that Hollywood would eat up. This is one of the best fast-paced, creative movies I've seen in a while. I wouldn't change anything about it.

US will remake this and call it Phone Booth 2. It will be crap. I have little to no interest in US remakes. I can't think of any they have done real justice off the top of my head.

why would you want a remake if you KNOW the ending??

you have too much cash lying around or you just like to listen to the sound of the american accent? i.e if its not english its not worth accepting?

Euch , typical someone who doesn't understand a movie wants the hollywood idiots to spoon feed them instead of using the brains they were born with. The film doesn't need remaking, it's fine the way it is. Thailand is not the US. You want linear and sensible storylines stick to Hollywood crap and leave asia alone.
