How is Bear Grylls not experienced?

I would say that Bear Grylls is knowledgeable in what he does. He demonstrates what you should/shouldn't do in the wild, he even goes through extremes of doing the unthinkable (many people claim it is a camera crew but I have yet to see a camera crew place a tube up their anal rectum or any other people like Les Shrod or whatever or eating poop or draining fluids from elephant poop for water.) He will purposely do a common mistake people make and then show you a means by which you can fix it.

I highly doubt any of these survivor celebrities would purposely go through that kind of trouble to simulate something like that. Furthermore I doubt the producers would let this guy go out by himself (hmmm insurance?)

I mean none of these people would do anything like that. Bear purposely simulates a disaster scenario and perfectly finds the solution for it. He purposely hurts himself so that he can show you remedies for such. He is knowledgeable about plant life, animals, shelter, terrain, geology, climatology, etc. of that area. I have yet to see anyone else do that (they just show you how to escape, not to really survive.)

**NOTE** THIS SHOW IS SHOWING YOU WHAT TO DO IN WORSE CASE SCENARIOS. Many people assume that the information within is irrelevant HOWEVER this information only applies to if you REALLY need it to survive. Logically you wouldn't use this if you were just strolling in the woods.

i liked the episode fans vs wild, because you got to see how normal people would cope in some of the situations bear puts himself in, remembering thou normal means people who had to past certain fitness tests and no doubt mental tests as well, and not your average joe who would struggle to do 1 pull up, 10 press ups or 12 sit ups, tackling a pint is a lot easier than fighting a bear but i know which would impress the ladies more.
