A good Idea for an upcoming special show/series?

Why don't Ray Mears, Les Stroud and Bear Grylls get together to do a special survival themed charity show (or series perhaps) in aid of a worthy cause - the WWF - for example?

Such a show could be aired as e.g. an Xmas special.

What do the rest of you think? Would you also like to see a show where all the TV survivalists compete against each other for a charitable outcome? Personally, I very much hope Bear sees this and it gets him thinking about doing such a competitive show/series with the other TV survivalists.

The fact that Ray Mears doesn't particularly like Bear might be a problem.

Let's put it like this then...

If Pink Floyd can get together every so often to play as one, despite the multi-million lawsuits between them, then surely Messrs. Mears and Gryll could put their differences behind - for *charity*(!!!) after all!?

Wouldn't ya say?

Besides their disliking each other would only add to the media spin of the occasion. A perfect example of how a negative could end up being a positive.

All Ray Mears does is sit around admiring the scenery. Most Bear Grylls fans probably dont like him.

Mears does more than that. He demonstrates a lot of survival techniques related to shelter and finding food and water. Bear on the other hand shows more about how to traverse difficult terrains. I don't know about MOST Bear fans, but certainly there are some who prefer the more "action packed" sequences of Man vs Wild than the more informative Ray Mears.

i think meyers and bear together in a survival show would be a great idea, although the way they tackle survival situations would certainly make for interesting viewing, but i vieew these two survival experts in the same way you could compare two martial arts experts, meyers being tai chi where as bear is more like wu chi, differences aside they would probably get along very well, after all survival is survival and they both have similar skills when it comes down to survival, i would however like to see a series where bear takes different fans out in the while and shows them first hand how to survive, i`m first in the queue for volunteers if they ever take up that idea.
