Money doesn't equal happiness

It makes me angry when people automatically assume that just because somebody is wealthy it means they are happy. Well, I hate to break it to you your amount of happiness or fulfilment is not equal to the amount on your pay check. Some people on this board and all over the world need to realize that they are not the only ones suffering.

Now I agree that movie Liz was significantly less sympathetic then the Liz from the book. Book Liz had sever depression. As someone who has lived with someone who suffers from depression, I can tell you that it is a disease that knows no discrimination. It can affect anyone of any race, gender, or financial background.

Everyone has problems and demons they have to deal with and they don't diminish just because your in a higher tax bracket. If you all truly believe this your not only naive but in for a very rude awakening.

Its something you'll get used to a mental mind *beep* can be nice!

I don't know who it is you are so angry at, but there are some things you need to realize: being wealthy does not necessarily mean being happy but what it absolutely DOES mean is that one who is wealthy has considerably more options and resources to help themselves and loved ones deal with their problems. Someone who is wealthy does not necessarily have to deal with the same day to day stresses and struggles that most people do.

I've lived with someone who has depression and who has even been committed. Quite frankly if I were wealthy or if the family member who has this were wealthy it would drastically change what we deal with.

And since depression in the clinical sense was not an aspect in this movie (not sure about the book but we aren't talking about the book, the discussion is about the movie) I don't know why you're on here freaking out over it. Stop taking internet opinions about a crummy movie so personally.

Who was simple or shallpw enough to think money equals happiness?

spoiler alert!!

But there was a part of the money that suggested that though: buying the house for tuti. It's as if to say, I am from the First World, rich Americans / Europeans will write to a cheque & all your Third World countries' problems would be solved.
