share"Nut case" is harsh and MacLaine didn't have much to do with Eastern Religion IIRC, so the basic question is greatly flawed. IMHO Eat, Love, Pray is not as bad as the rap it gets though it's far from great. It seems someone tried to make a lighthearted movie as a vehicle for Julia Roberts and went the extra step to make it as unoffensive as possible. Unfortunately removing things like clinical depression and talk of meditation and religion really left the story an unintelligible mess so I would recommend sticking with the book.
