I just finished the whole series in a few days and although I'm new to Anime I loved it.

I'm not going to say that the show went downhill after this episode like many people do, but didn't anyone else find this episode a little strange? The musical number at the start, the strong Christian imagery? The whole vibe of the episode was very surreal and very far from the fairly serious nature of the show.

I understand it was all leading up to the death of L but when I actually saw that happen I couldn't take it seriously and was genuinely convinced that he'd faked his own death to out manoeuvre Light..

I immediately noticed the very strong quality of the artwork in this episode, the musical number, and I'll never listen to bells quite the same way again. I'd guess they put some very special effort into this episode, and if the series had ended here, it would have been fine.

You could say Breaking Bad could have ended after Ozymandias. Very true, but I like when a series has an epilogue to give some closure. I also love Silence though. It just has a very different feel to it compared to the rest of the series.
