Oh yeah I remember seeing that and thinking "What!?" But David Fincher isn't really a character so I don't understand your comment? However, if they make a Death Note film (American) I'd want David Fincher to direct it.
shareSuch a film is already in post-production, to be released in early - mid 2017. Adam Wingard (of The Guest and Blair Witch) is at the helm, with Nat Wolff as Light, Willem Dafoe as Ryuk and Keith Stanfield as L (I can find no Near or N in the credits, so it's possible that L & N's characters were merged, with L defeating Light).
Margaret Qualley of the Leftovers has the role of Misa (as Mia Sutton). I do not expect much, but I just hope Wingard and the no less than six screenwriters do not completely mutilate the source material.
