Musical score

I thought the original score for Ponyo was well done. I know not many people will know what I'm talking about, but did it remind anyone else of Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe? I noticed it right at the beginning, and throughout the film, especially with the use of wordless choir.

Yeah, I can definitely see the influence there. And then towards the middle of the movie, when Ponyo is running on the waves, you get a Ride of the Valkyries sounding theme going.

And you're right, the score really is well done. It's a huge part of what makes this movie so great. It gives you a real feeling of serenity and appreciation of the beauty of nature.

That's my favorite part, when Ponyo is running on the ocean and the music!

I solemnly swear I am up to no good!

Ooh, yeah! 'Flight of Ponyo' is the best, so exciting and majestic! Also, for some reason I can't stop listening to 'Fleet March' and 'Fleet March II'. Stupid Amazon, I wonder why they don't have the soundtrack available for download.

beyond well done, it was extraordinarily. my friends that don't typically notice filmmusic couldn't stop praising the score. wish I had seen the movie and heard the score sooner
