I thought the original score for Ponyo was well done. I know not many people will know what I'm talking about, but did it remind anyone else of Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe? I noticed it right at the beginning, and throughout the film, especially with the use of wordless choir.
shareYeah, I can definitely see the influence there. And then towards the middle of the movie, when Ponyo is running on the waves, you get a Ride of the Valkyries sounding theme going.
And you're right, the score really is well done. It's a huge part of what makes this movie so great. It gives you a real feeling of serenity and appreciation of the beauty of nature.
That's my favorite part, when Ponyo is running on the ocean and the music!

Ooh, yeah! 'Flight of Ponyo' is the best, so exciting and majestic! Also, for some reason I can't stop listening to 'Fleet March' and 'Fleet March II'. Stupid Amazon, I wonder why they don't have the soundtrack available for download.
