Lewis on iTunes

I got the final season from iTunes and it's rather strange w.r.t. packaging and editing. Unlike prior PBS offerings, the first episode is broken into 2 parts, the total run time exceeds 90 minutes, and the title card just says "Lewis" rather than "Inspector Lewis", all fairly consistent with the UK version.

On the other hand, it has a PBS promo at the beginning and the Mystery! introductory sequence. As near as I can tell, there's no additional content compared to the PBS broadcast version, which ran for less than 90 minutes, including a couple of sponsorship messages (a.k.a. ads). I don't recall how it was titled when broadcast.

No idea what happened to the missing 5-10 minutes; the intro only accounts for a minute or two. (It's a Mystery! I guess.)

The UK DVD release of final season (Series 9) also breaks each episode into 2 parts, unlike previous 8 seasons. I wonder whether the US DVD release of final season will be the same.

Hard to say at this point. It just seemed odd that the US streamed format diverged from the PBS broadcast but the dramatic content had no obvious additions (restorations) to account for the longer running time.
