shareJason (main guy) passed it on to the desperate detective. Right after doing that we see the Djinn come out of the water and grant his wish.
Jason was not the brightest match in the box, though. He was directly told by the previous winner what to do and, specifically, the steps needed to be taken to insure his wish came true. Instead, he ignored all of that and decided to throw the game away and needlessly fight with the detective.
Don’t watch this movie with a serious mindset. It’s a cheesy, silly, suspense horror. Some of the gore is pretty good, but otherwise, just remember it’s a movie about an evil board game and a bunch of hormone driven surfers who play it.
