jamanji rip off

dosent this just sound like a Jamanji or Zathura rip off with a horror twist

reply

It's not a rip-off at all. The premise is similar, but that's it.

Not really. It sounds closer to The Ring. If the whole world resets itself and then everyone comes back to life at the end of the game, then it's similar to Jumanji.

Sounded very close to a Jumanji / Final destinationesque thing to me .
Thats what I got from the trailer anyways . . . Not the greatest premise IMO

Haha! I was thinking the same thing. I haven't thought of Jumaji for years.

It also sounds very close to Stay Alive with Frankie Muniz, the difference beeing this one has a boardgame instead of a computer game, and Eliza Dushku is somewhat hotter than Frankie.

Sounds like a potential crapsandwitch if you as me. (Although I didn't hate Stay Alive so you never know)

jumanji was a kids movie this is not a kids movie just look at the trailer DEFINATLY NOT FOR KIDS thus it cant be a rip off, now if it was another game with another jungle motif and stuff THEN it would be a rip off. This is i uno jumanji horror style? i dont know

reply

if its like jumanji only more series and for more adult crowd, then whoopee i always wanted a movie like that.

when i was a kid i loved juamnji
and when i heard about zathura i made the mistake of watching without checking if its intendent for kids or not.

so if its similiar to jumanji but more serious, then as i said: whoopee

i guess foodfella's is a godfather rip off with out the godfather and such?

reply

that and stay alive.

reply

yes the plot is somewhat of a ripoff. Playing a board game that makes real things happen until some wins the game. But hey is Saturday night SyFy. Most movies are ripoffs and cheap b movies.

reply

I liked it.

Jumanju was kinda close, but I think i can recall reading a few stories kinda like this in the old "Creepy" or "Erie" illustrated mag in the 70's. . . . Very much like this. Jumanji screamed . .. "Sequel" at the end.

This sure doesn't.

Completely predictable plot, yet done with enough to not cause any disdain from me either .

Therefore i give it a 5 for the production.

Wish i had my old comics, . . . probably worth alot today. - sigh -
