dont get it
i really dont understand this movie, even the ending i still dont understand.
shareIt's more of a character study than a narrative. Tone and mood play equal, if not paramount parts.
Not sure if you're supposed to "get" something, as much as i think the director allowed the audience to "peak" into the life of adolescent girls and the different types of scenarios they're faced with based on their nature.
As far as the end goes, Marie and Ann started as close friends, but then drift apart due to their obsessions with other people; Ann became obsessed with Francois, only to find out he really had no feelings for her, but was just using her. Marie became obsessed with Floriane, but realizes that Floriane is just using her as well.
Their characters both realize this almost at the same time; and in the end they realize that their all each other really needs and are friends once more.
I for one hope that it isn't as simple as that because I felt so much emanating from both Marie and Floriane, the last shots of her just dancing are super great. The movie kind of reminds me of "Angus", if anyone else remembers that. It's that kinda resolution. The soundtrack is also dope, the French sure can handle a sequencer.

Don't get me wrong; I loved the film. A plot DOES need to be simple at the very core of it; however, that's not to say it is not then layered with tons of subtext.
The guy was just saying he didn't understand it at all... just trying to break it down to its basic level.
