I am considering buying this film as a gift for a teenage relative. She is 16 and has been involved in syncro swimming for years. It is the main passion in her life. I noticed that this film had synchro swimming as part of the story and since it's about teenage girls wondered if it would be age appropriate for this girl.
I'm also curious if the subtitles are easy to follow or not.
Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

The swimming is really just scene-setting and the film isn't really about that, but yes, it would be fine for a 16 year-old. The subtitles are not hard to follow.

It depends on your idea of what is fine for a 16 year old to watch. If you are of the closed-minded type, where sex is a taboo subject, especially with regards to teenagers, then NO this film is not appropriate for a 16 year old or yourself possibly. Some people will find this film shocking, appalling, or perverted. I did not personally, and thought it had a strong message to convey about coming of age and trying to find out who you are.
