Opening Scene

omg, firstly, everyone is kinda being mean about this movie.

it's totally a mood movie...just get into the atmosphere!

anyway, the opening scene is so chilling, and I love it, but when I watched it on DVD this week, it seemed different than the theatrical version?

I really thought New Order's "Blue Monday" played in the opening scene in the theatrical version...I could be wrong, but I kept waiting for that song to play?

Does anyone know, or am I just retarded?

I watched it at the movies too (you must have been the other one) and distinctly remember hearing "New Gold Dream." "Blue Monday" was used for the first trailer that came out. I don't know if that trailer is on this site, but it's def on youtube.

Yes, it was in the original trailer. The last trailer (the more well known of the two) opens with "New Gold Dream" and ends with "I Ran." The original trailer opened up with "Blue Monday" and ended with one of those annoying Bryan Metro songs from the movie. It was pretty long and showed a lot of the movie. It's still online, but it's not on any of the Sony released DVDs.

There's the link to a website that has an article on the old trailer. It has now apparently been removed by the studio, but it says in the article that "Blue Monday" and a Ronald Regan voiceover play over the studio logo at the beginning of the trailer.

I wonder why it's been removed.

theres an episode of gossip girl that is set in the 80s and theres a house party scene thats similar to the opening of the informers and its playing blue monday idk if you watch it but maybe you got confused

I have yet to watch a single episode of Gossip Girl so I know that I'm not confusing it with that. I typed that address because it proves that, yes, there was a trailer that opened up with the tune "Blue Monday." I'm a huge BEE fan so I was checking the internet for ANYTHING to do with this movie even before the poster or trailer were released.
