Who is the character of Bryan Metro and what does he do in the film?

he is the lead singer of a new wave band. he's addicted to heroine and spends much of his days in a haze of stoned sex. the one thing he cares about, his kid, he can't see because his ex wife wont allow it. there are some scenes that may be hard to stomach if you are sensitive. a scene where he cuts his hand pretty bad, one with some asian children and he also punches a woman.
