Hmmm.

The original, back in the 30s, started out as a horror story. If they do this, I really wish they'd remember its roots, and put some spookiness back into the series.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

if they get guillermo del toro, as the article suggests, im sure they can.

spookiness... well actually I'm not a very big fan of horror movies on one hand, but on the other hand I clearly enjoyed the first 2 mummy films (and yeah I also liked the third one, although it lacked the spirit of the 2 other ones), and I'd love to have another mummy movie carry on the spirit of the 1st and 2nd one... but please not located in Egpyt. That's one thing I liked about the 3rd movie - there are mummys (or things like that) in lots of other countries around the world (Peru, China, Italy, bog bodies in Northern Germany...), so why not concentrate on one of those?

The original Mummy film was a horror film, why they remade it as an action/adventure I don't know but I liked it. This will not have anything to do with Brendan Fraisers films. They want to make it back into the horror films it was.

"Universal, for the love of Pete, don't bring Stephen Sommers back"

Are you kidding me?? Everyone loves the first two Mummy films and Surprise Surprise, Stephen Sommers was in charge of those ones. And he didn't write or direct the third one, the one everyone hates (yes he produced it). So why wouldn't anyone want him back?

People are stupid!

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

reply

Might have something to do with the prequel "the scorpion king" and it not matching the style of the 2nd movies intro, unless he was planning "scorpion king 2" to explain him looking for world domination upon revival.

The Brendan Fraiser Mummy films are action/adventure. But the original Mummy films were Horror. The new film is not a follow up to the new ones

reply

I want Brendan Fraser back. But there's no chance in Hell that'll happen so I guess we'll/I'll have to go with it.
