Could Species: The Awakening work as a TV series?

Okay last night I saw this on the Sfi-Fi channel and was shocked with how decent this film was. Especially after seeing how beyond horrible Species III was. I thought that Helena Mattsson's acting was well done and she seemed like a real character instead of just staring at things like Sunny Mabrey did in the last film. And because the character of Miranda was interesting and didn't want to kill she was kind of a hero version of the monsters. Then I got to thinking wouldn't a spin-off TV series with Miranda and the Professor hunting down all the creatures that Forbes created work? Each episode has them tracking down and trying to get rid of the other evil Species monsters?

So what do you think?

I like the idea but I also hate it. The problem is that two scientists would basically become bounty hunters. Plus, how many hybrids did Forbes make? And how many are in the city? The show might last a season but it just wouldn't feel right, like Crow: Stairway to Heaven. It would just become a creature of the week type show and the characters of Miranda and Tom would have to be completely altered. All in all, it could work but they shouldn't try it.
