Miranda

Too bad she ended up dying at the end, even though she was an alien.

I'm actually kind of happy that the movie ended how it did. Yes, it was sad to see her die but at least this movie had a definative ending, instead of a stupid cliffhanger that makes everyone collectively groan. Also, it just felt right to end it that way.

I felt bad when she died cause I liked Miranda and really wanted a sequel with her in it.

But maybe she really didn't die in the fire, but played like she was to get rid of the Professor. And then Miranda heads off on her own.

All it would take is to have the next start with a wierd little worm crawling out if the fire. She was pregnant. Pretty easy. What happened to the Species she was pregnant with? Time did pass. Also, the Species don't just die. They regenerate. So did she really die? The fire would kill her, but the next one could start with her escaping the fire, or her baby. I think it should become a series.

reply

Maybe, but fire is one of the things that kills them. It burned Sil's body in the first one, making it impossible for her head to regenerate. It was also the incredible heat of the fusion reactor that killed Amelia in #3 (not fire exactly but ya know what I mean). The way I see it, the baby wasn't yet strong enough to regenerate like an adult, so Azura stabbing Miranda through the stomach twice took care of that. And for some reason, I just can't see the good Miranda (which she obviously reverted back to after nailing Forbes) faking her own death like that.

I'm fairly sure they'll try to come up with some way that she survived so they can make a part 5 but it'd actually be nice if they just left it here.

reply

Maybe Miranda quickly formed another cocoon to defend herself from the fire. When a bunch of firemen are putting out what's left of the fire the next day, they'll be happily surprised.

reply

I don't think the aliens can cocoon at will like that, just like humans don't grow beards or breasts at will.
