Species V?
I was wondering will they make a Species 5? they can pick up where species 3 left off.
shareI was wondering will they make a Species 5? they can pick up where species 3 left off.
shareI wouldn't doubt it. They tried to get Sunny back for this one but she had other obligations. I just hope the fifth one is closer in quality to the 4th than it is to the 3rd.
shareit would be cool, but if they can't get her back for the fifth one i'm sure they'll get someone else for her character. I wonder will part 5 be the last one? Thats if they make one.
shareHelena M. said openly that she would be up for doing another one. I think, relatively speaking, that "Awakening" did well enough to warrant another installment. So I think the chances are good. As for the picking up where "Species 3" left off, it depends on the writer, but I would bet it will continue on with however "Awakening" ended. Here's hoping for some featurettes with "Species 5".
shareI'm sure they will make a Species 5. And knowing the conventions of the third and the fourth film it will be called I married a Hybrid. The story will be as follows: another Sil will appear from the God knows where, a Man will fall in love with her and after killing some other aliens/hybrids they will have children, and they will live happily ever after. Wouldn't it be great? Though, I'd rather be interested in where the other aliens/hybrids came from and were until now. But we won't get to know it.
shareSure would be nice. But I think the character of SIL is dead now, since Miranda was presumably created from the third and final embryo...

Although I won't be able to see "Species: The Awakening" until august or september (Germany release) I can already say I'm all for Species V. I have faith in this franchise and I'm sure they can find a talented writer (maybe Ben Ripley again) and a good director to make another Species movie.
shareI basically think they shouldn't do a Species 5, I think 4 is enough.
share4? Heh...3 was enough, 2 even... The quality of this series is going down hill and starting to reach desperation levels.
shareWhen I saw the 3rd, I was not impressed, when I heard about the 4th, I thought oh my god, not another one, but I thought this was done better than the 3rd.
shareI would be interested in a Species 5 but they need to go a different direction with the story. I don't think it should pick following either Species 3 or 4. They really need to simplify things because as it is there is little to no logic present in the Species films. It should also be noted that the quality of the films have progressively gone down hill. I really don't see how people enjoyed this film more than the last 2. Yes, Miranda was some very nice eye candy indeed but the film was so damn boring.
I don't know where you could go with Species 5 really... perhaps they could find an Alien vessel drifting in space + upon boarding it discover it's orgins... that being the Alien race that sent us theit DNA to mix with our own. Don't really know how that would work out though. Of course, it couldn't go much worse than Species 2-4.
I agree, a new direction would be nice. Here's my proposal: the original race that sent the DNA transmission in part 1 decide to be a little more aggressive with their invasion, so they park in orbit and sent some "meteorites" to earth carrying a little surprise. Basically, they sent in "dna bombs", which would carry the same goo that infected the Mars crew in part 2. So now you'd have several random people around the world infected and breeding. Only problem is, on a direct to dvd budget, that'd never happen.
shareI stopped caring about this franchise after the first sequel and just kept watching it for the nudity. That's probably why I preferred Species 3 over 4. Who am I kidding? I never cared about this franchise... at all. I spent the whole of 4 waiting for one of those two women to get nude. By that time the damn creature nudity was looking arousing.
I own all 4 films but not out of choice. I have an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder associated with my DVD collection. I have to have every film in a franchise or I feel incomplete. Try owning the James Bond franchise with this illness. It's torture. I own the Ultimate Collector's box but just knowing Quantum of Solace will be the odd one out, itches me in ways I don't care to explain. Don't even get me started on Never Say Never Again. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
But seriously, if I want to watch a quality creature film, I'll grab any disc from my Alien/Predator: Total Destruction box. Well, minus Rectal Discharge and Rectal Discharge 2... I mean AVP and AVP2. It's simple really, if they want to get this franchise back on track; more nudity. Much, much more. Nobody watches this crap expecting Ridley Scott or James Cameron levels of film making. Increase the nudity and the rest will follow.
