Definitely terrible

I didn't fall asleep so I guess I'm qualified to say how pointless the film was. *spoilers* I suppose.

The only real thing that happens in the entire first half is the discovery that she is an alien. The rest is fluff. We've already seen the other Species movies and know what that means so we don't need 40 minutes of seeing it. This all could have been condensed to 5-10 minutes.

"But she doesn't know!", you're saying. I agree that this unique twist has promise. Coming to grips with this revelation or trying to understand the history of her species or understanding her future in a human world could've made the entire movie. Would she keep it a secret or would she take advantage of it? Like Teen Wolf or something.

Maybe her "uncle" would try to keep it from her? Nope, he tells her right away, she feels bad about killing some people for a second, and that's that.

No real dilemma is approached until the uncle discovers she's also dying. Will he tell her or won't he? Again, that's answered immediately in the next scene, so another potential suspenseful plot point wasted.

Then, a solution for her eternal life, and an actual moral dilemma at 46 minutes in! Will he kidnap and harvest humans for her? This, we actually see him struggle with for a bit. He doesn't grab the old lady. He considers killing the chick at the club, but then she mugs him, and someone else kills her. It's a total cop out, and then it's never talked about again. Bah, who cares if he felt bad about it? That's for films with character development!

Nothing else happens for the rest of the movie, but she seems to make a sacrifice for reasons that aren't built up at all. The end.

TL;DR - Nice boobs, blondie.
