I don't know about most of you but I like to think this entry was head and shoulders above the last two movies in the series. Granted, the series has now moved into the "direct-to-dvd, Sci-Fi channel" genre but this movie is proof that they can still make a decent movie even with limited resources. So considering this movie and the fact that sequels seem moew than inevitable these days (especially for horror/sci-fi movies), do you think they will make a fifth one and if so, what would you like the storyline to be?

Personally, I liked how number 4 was more of a standalone movie that didn't need to follow the plot-holed minefield of the series's history. One idea I had (would never happen though) would be to bring back Press and Laura as being part of a team that investigates any possible signs of the species on Earth. They could start the movie by having them clean up the town in Mexico crawling with Forbes's creations as a sort of bridge between the two continuities. Then maybe after that, they could start getting reports of something strange lurking in LA. They (along with us) would never be sure what it is until the end of the second act, but everyone would believe that Sil (or Eve, for those of you that watched the director's commentary on #3) had somehow managed to survive and was laying low (maybe in another coccoon) while her massive injuries healed. This movie could be slightly more suspenseful as we would follow Press and Laura's search for answers. Another idea I've had involves bringing in the woman that originally donated her ovum to be used to make Sil, Eve and Miranda. Sil would feel some kind of link to her because of it and the role could be played by Natasha, giving the audience an uneasy feeling as part of the team has the face of the enemy (I used this idea in my rewrite for Species 2).

This is just a basica outline of what I think they could do if they had the money and could bring back some of the cast. Granted, I doubt any of them want back in but if it were possible, they could make quite the sequel.

Species: Assassin

Premise: The government creates another Sil clone (played by Natasha Henstridge) and uses her abilities for different top secret operations and assassinations.

She could fall in love with one of her targets and so they are on the run together and try to find a cure to suppress her alien side or something. They send a male human-alien hybrid after them.

Good response. Taking this idea forward:

If you've seen Henstridge recently... she's not as hot as in here debut.
I would vote for new blood.

One of her "lovers" could be a female (fem@human level, male@alien level).... If that doesn't work, I also like idea of a super-strong woman defending her normal male conterpart. (a la Julie Delpy as werewolf in http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118604/).

On scifi side, I would like to extend the punk-scientist idea of species-4.. I felt it was a tad under-explored in "awakening". Maybe other followers of the series can plug in the holes.

Either as someone has already said a prequel explaining the origin of the DNA or a mass invasion by the alien

Another backup for madcreech and psdhart - I'd really like to know where the alien originated from, hich planet or galaxy. I think this is the only avenue left to explore in the series. An alien vs. humans war would be awesome, but I suspect this would suck up budget resources far beyond the next film's expenditure limit.
