Did Catherine tell Eleanor?

Did Catherine ever confess to Eleanor what she suspected about General Tilney- about him murdering his wife?

It's like a missing scene. Since Eleanor and Catherine had become dear friends it would have been such an obvious part of any conversation they had- but we don't get to see it. This is unfortunate because Eleanor had come to adore Catherine and I, while watching the movie, was waiting for Eleanor's reaction to Catherine's wicked suspicions. It never came and for me this hung over the remaining scenes with Catherine and Eleanor.

I'm curious how this was handled in the book, too.

No, she didn't confess in the book. Just before being sent away from Northanger, Catherine's biggest fear is that Henry would tell Eleanor her silly suspicions. And then Catherine is sent away, and that's the end of that. We never find out if Eleanor ever learned of it later. My opinion is Catherine may have confessed it to her at a much later date.
