Emma and Justin

Why does Emma look so uncomfortable with her husband? Picking this off the scene after they just finished dinner and he asked her to sit with him. Because of the tragedy of Ben dying? But John seemed to be over it.

Sparing Justin at the end just seems easy to me. Weird vibes between him and Emma again... (Something to do with Ben again?) Understand that the parents are not cold blooded killers but still, I'd thought they would tie him up or something.

Perhaps Emma was worried that John would mention their son and she wasn't ready for a conversation about it. They certainly skirted around the issue, and we're never told how their son died. This detail wasn't in the original film so it's undoubtedly used as a plot device in this one. They lost one child so their remaining child is even more precious to them.

Now on to Justin, again, in the original Junior [Justin] doesn't survive as he's made to commit suicide by his evil father, but in this one he's just as much a victim of his tyrannical dad so for the Collingwoods they must feel bad that he is a perfectly healthy and nice young man who isn't loved or appreciated by his family, and what they'd give to have a son like him.

Not sure about Emma and her husband.

But Justin GIVES THEM A GUN. He earns his "trustworthy" badge on that one.

The robot falls in love.

In the beginning Justin wasn't strong enough to do anything to try and help Mari or Paige. Once they got to the Collingwood's house though he was still very scared but he was doing what he could to try to help. Hence he let them know that Mari was in trouble in the best way that he could then by wrapping that necklace around the cup that he was given hot chocolate in. Later on in the movie he helped by giving Mr. Collingwood the gun when they were in the guest house. He then tried to help fight his own dad and paid a major price for that but he also proved to the Collingwood's that he was on the Collingwood's side and they took him with them when they left.
