Having not seen the original, I liked the plot featuring the half way twist, with the predators, suddenly having the tables turned on them in a fairly realistic manner. Hell of a lot more gripping and suspenseful than your regular teen slasher favourite and nice to see actors featured who could actually string a line or two together.🐭 share
Simply put... You're desensitized. This movie has it's moments. I have thick skin when it comes to film but the rape scene in the forest was heavy. Seemed to capture the messed up aspect of what it would really be like to be kidnapped and raped. Also, seeing how the father treated his son was disturbing. Not a horrifying movie persay but... It woul definitely make any 5th grader piss themselves

shareI'm 43 minutes into the movie and I'm still waiting for "a mother and father who devise an increasingly gruesome series of revenge tactics" from the summary here on imdb.
So far I only see evil people doing evil things. That's not much of a movie.
I think this movie is more about impacting your emotions than your average "scares." It's more about scaring you by showing just how dark and wicked humans can be to one another. Things similar to what happens in this movie occur all the time so that's what is scary rather than say an apparition popping up in a mirror with a loud music cue or a large, masked man chasing a character with a large weapon. It's scary to think about the vile things people do for no reason at all as well as the depths seemingly normal people can sink to if given the right circumstance.

Wait a minute... who am I here?
It contained very few jump scares but some of the content was high in impact and there was lots of suspense throughout. Although it was a great film with a great plot. I think the reason one would find it boring is due to a desensitization to violence. I noticed that whilst watching this, it didn't scare me whereas these films used to have a much greater effect on me. But still, it can't be called 'boring'.
shareleonw-hunt right from the start I wasn't expecting any horror type scares and not far into the movie it was clear it wasn't going to be like that. Now with that said did it make this movie boring? Maybe for you it did but for most people that are true movie goers/watchers this was an easy movie to watch in terms of it making sense from start to finish, having proper acting, having moments that made you cringe in what clearly was to be a thriller, etc. Boring? Well to each his own I guess.
