This film packs a mean punch.
I remember being really into it when it came out in 2009. I actually saw it twice in theaters because it made such an impression on me. It was BEAUTIFULLY shot, intensely emotional and completely nerve-shredding especially near the end. People in the theater actually stood up and cheered during the kitchen sink scene.
Just watched it yesterday and it holds up. It's nasty, brutal and appropriately dramatic.
The original doesn't have the emotional heft that this one does.
