Imcfadden: congrats on getting a wonderful deal. I bought the First Season from Amazon and it cost me the earth. I think most people on this board (,I came on last Dec. - years too late ) concur that the first 2 - 3 Seasons are the best. Some, and I am one of them, like the fourth Season because of the witch thing, Emo-Eric, all culminating in this Halloween finale which was great fun. It also gave Nelson Ellis a chance to show what a versatile actor he is. Love Lafayette. I have stood alone on this board defending the Bill Compton character against die-hard Eric groupies. I really like Eric and the show would have been lame without him, but if you can find my posts re: Bill you'll know why I loved the first 3 Seasons - and especially the first, so much. Enjoy! If you have HBO they are still showing all 7?Seasons
ON DEMAND. I just can't find another series that has the great ensemble acting, the witty premise, the inspired insanity, and the breath-taking romance ( remember the first and second meetings at Merlotte's when Sookie first meets Bill - played by the talented and then hot British actor Stephen Moyers..,Just like Sookie, I was hooked. This is a Vampire story ( and much more ) for adults. No teenage sappiness like the stupid "Twilight" series. Virtually every character is multi-dimensional - brilliantly coasted.
So enjoy "True Blood" which I began to watch from the start in 2008. A very articulate poster named Maggie'sView ( an Eric -girl but right about a lot of things (,including the way the writing deteriorated when Alan Ball left after Season 5 and the horrible ending they gave us.
But you might enjoy Season 6 and part of Season 7 - so I don't want to spoil things for you.
I just wish I was new to the series as you are. Because by the 10th viewing the best programs can get rather stale. Welcome.
