I just saw this film, and the one thing I cannot get over is how terrible and awkward the kiss between Anne and Wentworth was. It was so bad it almost ruined the movie for me! Anyone agree?

Nope. It was a moment of longing and hesitation. I was actually thinking just get on with it and kiss the poor girl - and then he/they did and it made me smile.

It was symbolic. 8 years of yearning and loneliness between these two. They are both in disbelief that they finally found each other again. So a slow, make the moment last, savior it kiss.
