This movie could have been so much funnier

The last part of the movie was funnier than the beginning and middle. They could have made him more Forrest Gump-like. Maybe saving Ho Chi Minh's life. Introducing Yoko to John. Something like that.

I have the Unrated dvd with both version's of the movie. Unrated had a little more with more laughs, music, and deleted scene's. I liked both version's, did you watch this on tv or rent the movie????

I always cheer for the bad guy!

this is my favorite comedy of all time, so I'd have to disagree.

and I'd agree that the extended version is better.

This movie was perfect. I disagree entirely.

This movie is not for everyone. I watched it six times and it gets funnier with each viewing. I had my brother watch it and he returned the DVD and said he couldn't get more that a half hour into it before he was bored to tears. I should have known better since he couldn't watch Step-Brothers or Talladega Nights. People who are reality centered don't enjoy movies that 'stretch' the boundaries of historical or scientific truth and he is easily embarrassed by scenes that exhibit bad taste and specifically he finds nothing humorous in people getting cut in half. I gave him the DVD of the latest Doors documentary and he loved it. Reality versus fantasy.

As an apologist turned authority I don't defend my comments because I am always right.

I didn't like it much when I first saw it. The style of "obviously stating out loud whats going on" comedy has worn really thin for me and its 's in this movie a fair bit. I don't care for the Beatles scene where repeatedly stating which Beatle your talking to is supposedly funny. But I found on repeated viewings on TV (Starz unedited) it's really grown on me and there's a lot of good stuff apart from the things I don't like. I love his Dad in this.
