Did anybody else see a person's head in the back of the treehouse boat or am i seeing things? I watched it twice, and it looks like someone is passing them the pirate hats.

Doesn't Derek run for the boat house to join them? I could be wrong. We never see him actually go up but he says something along the lines of "oh sweet" then has a happy face and starts running toward the boat house.
If the scene you're thinking of comes directly before we see him run for it, then maybe it's just continuity. Or another option is maybe Derek's kids are up there too.
It's Derek's kids, I'm almost positive they rush up there and into the tree house.
