Adrien Brody (Directed toward huge Wes Anderson fans)
I haven't seen all of Wes Anderson's movies, this is the only one that I've watched in a full sitting (I saw Royal Tenenbaums in parts and I barely remember it) so this is pretty much the only Wes Anderson movie I've seen. I remember when i saw the trailer I thought it looked really really weird but when my friend and I went and saw it on a whim we both agreed that it was a delightful surprise. Ive just watched it twice in two days being that it's been on MAX and I forgot how good of a movie it was. I do remember saying that Wes Anderson deserved a Best Director nomination in 2007 (his directing style is so unique with the long pans). Such a great film, so original.
But anyway, this post is for Wes Anderson fans:
Both Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson are Wes Anderson alumni (I've done my homework) but Adrien Brody is a newbie to the director's stock company. So tell me, does Adrien Brody suffice in terms of delivering Anderson's dialogue to the audience and making one of his characters come to life? I think Adrien Brody is a terrific actor in general and I was blown away by his performance in this. I was blown away by the film overall, but I didn't realize how good Brody was going to be (Wilson and Schwartzman were excellent as well, but they are on familiar territory here).
So do Wes Anderson fans think Brody's performance is good?
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise
