What was with all the drugs?

On the train ride, they are all constantly doing those Indian drugs. What is that all about?

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

Peter suffered headaches because he wore glasses of the wrong prescription, Francis was still injured from his accident, and Jack was just a fun lovin' guy.

Yeah, that's completely true, but I think it was more than that, don't you?

There might very well have been. They might have been getting high to deal with the stress of being around each other, but I don't think it's as funny as my interpretation. I could be wrong.

I like that interpretation.

It also shows how screwed up their relationships with each other are. They keep secrets from one another yet openly share their drugs.

Can't stop the signal.

I thought it was meant to be a humorous observation about how over-medicated a lot of Americans are and how normalized it's become.
